PX stores the underlying timestamps for every reservation in UTC. The timezone setting on the Account Preferences card controls how those timestamps display in the UI.

How to set it

  1. Open Settings.
  2. In the Account Preferences card, open the Timezone dropdown.
  3. Pick from the US timezone list:
    • Pacific (US/Pacific)
    • Mountain (US/Mountain)
    • Central (US/Central)
    • Eastern (US/Eastern)
    • Alaska (US/Alaska)
    • Hawaii (US/Hawaii)
  4. PX shows a “Timezone updated successfully” toast.
Saving is automatic. There is no Save button.

What the timezone affects

SurfaceAffected
Property detail - reservation arrival/departure datesYes
Audit results - arrival/departureYes
Findings - detected/fixed timestampsYes
Home dashboard - trend chartYes
Issue detected/fixed datesYes

What it does not affect

SurfaceReason
Stored timestamps in the databaseAlways UTC. Timezone is display-only.
The PMS itselfPX is read-only against your PMS.
Business model activation dateStored as a date, not a timestamp - timezone-agnostic.
Audit date range pickersThe pickers select calendar dates regardless of timezone.
Audit PDF exportsExports use the user’s display timezone at the time of export.

Why only US timezones?

The current dropdown is constrained to US timezones because PX’s customer base is US-centric. Reach out to support@pxaccounting.com if you need a non-US timezone.

Edge cases

  • Daylight saving time - PX handles DST automatically. The timezone you pick is the IANA zone (US/Pacific, etc.), not a fixed offset.
  • Properties in a different timezone from your account - timezones are account-level today, not per-property. Bookings still display in your account timezone, even when the property is elsewhere. PMS-reported check-in/check-out times are unaffected.
  • Multi-user accounts - the timezone setting is per-account, not per-user. If multiple people work in your account from different cities, they all see the same display timezone.
